Rahul Dev Burman aka R. D. Burman is known for introducing perky, Western influenced music which has inspired generations of music directors. Nicknamed as Pancham Da, this man gave the industry, an entirely different genre of music. Burman composed music for around 330 films from 1960s to the 90s.
