The Most Popular at Nirma University: Ahemdabad

A grandeur structure with its splendid arena standing in the city of Ahmedabad, NIRMA is one of the prestigious universities. Involving the Institutes of Technology, Management, Pharmacy, Science, Law and Architecture on the same campus, Nirma is a different world in itself. This composition would be a small tour into the sphere of Nirmites, presenting some of the most popular bits and pieces.

 

Beware of the Numbers

As you enroll into the Institute of technology, Nirma University, yes the two numbers 85 and 40 are quite harrowing for the engineers. As your attendance sinks below 85%, be prepared to write the exam papers over and again. So engineers, it’s time to apply your Math next time when you bunk.More than gaining the graceful grade A+, one is intimidated with IF (fail). So, 40 is the benchmark that every guy here would have definitely set once.

Under the Desk

Mobiles being the world to every youngster now-a-days, life at college without mobiles seem impossible. The strict rule of prohibiting the use of mobiles in class isn’t more annoying than the unavailability of network. Guys, most of you have surely tried getting the network, keeping mobiles under the desks and waiting for one green line to reappear.

The Most Popular – K block

The most popular spot of Nirma is the canteen (K block), huge and splendid. It has everything from a cup of tea to complete thali for lunch, be it South Indian, Chinese, pizza, chats or Gujarati farsan. The sandwich dhokla and Samosa fulfills the breakfast, with a refreshing panna in summers.  In the middle of canteen, lies the juice center with every kind of milk shakes and fruit juices prepared freshly. As they enter, their eyes gleam when they glimpse at the cubicle of The Brownie Point with mouth-watering pastries and pies, enriching the love of canteen further.

Print and Xerox

A small room flooded with students during the submissions time, is quite an important place before exams. Be it a printout of project reports or xerox of notes and tutorials, one is ready to queue up there even in the scorching heat and the hustle bustle created during breaks. Opposite to it, one would get every stationary required to be equipped engineer. All would remember going up there and buying the large sheets for engineering drawing and certificates in a rush before practical exams.

Be there for Networking

A huge hall streamed with students at the top floor in the PG block, copying the assignments and solving tutorials in the group during submissions. Some can be spotted with huge drawing sheets while others trying to run the working projects. Students often go there as it’s the only place where one can get access to Nirma Wi-Fi. 

The Next Door

Located on the outskirts of city, the grand campus stands amidst the beautiful nature. Outside the premises, Gattabhai center is the most popular hangout spot for guys. The bournvita milk shake and mayonnaise puff with a hot chai, drags the crowd here. Opposite to it, also stands the smoking adda.

Robotic Technocrats

An international competition, ROBOCON is organized by Asia pacific Broadcasting union (ABU) every year. The ROBOCON group of Nirma has given a platform to innovative students for discovering their immense talent in the domain of their field by designing robots. This club has made all Nirmites proud and led Nirma further in its opulence and triumph, by competing and consummating championship trophies at National level.

Dance, Drama and Action

ROTARACT (RCNI) is one the most happening things on the grounds of Nirma. It is the largest socio-cultural club of University that brings together all departments to unite and work on a common platform.  The most awaited event of the city, HORIZON is its annual cult-fest. Another premiere techno-socio-cultural club of university, ISTE has been awarded with the “Best Students’ Chapter Award”.

These clubs are an opportunity to pageant boundless talent in various genres of dance, music, art, quiz, sports and literature. They bestow enormous excitement with eavesdropping performances of the biggest stars.

NU-Tech is the annual cult-fest of Nirma, exclusively for Institute of Engineering, celebrated with great pomp and show. Further, every branch of engineering in the Institute of Technology has its own club that takes care of all the technical and cultural events within their departments.
